About Me

I wouldn’t call myself a hardcore DIY’er. I don’t use power tools. You won’t catch me reupholstering a sofa. I own a sewing machine but just don’t have the time to learn to use it at this point in my life. And, while I think the details in designing a room are important, I don’t think they should bog you down.

Creating a beautiful place to live doesn’t have to be complicated. I enjoy pouring over pretty pictures in magazines and online as much as the next person. But, what I really love best is finding bargains and rearranging my furniture. I love the thrill of the hunt, working with what I have, and figuring out how to make our home work best for our family.

If decorating your home seems like an overwhelming task, you’ve come to the right place. I believe that much can be accomplished with big ideas and a little resourcefulness (and the occasional hot glue gun and spray paint). I hope my blog encourages you to make your home a place you love—one easy, unintimidating project at a time. {See more here.}

I started blogging in the Fall of 2009 as a way to organize my ideas about our new home. Little did I know that this blog would see me through our family expanding, the start and stop of my interior design business, a move to another house, a feature in a national magazine in the Summer of 2012 and another in the Fall of 2014.

With experience as a contributor for the Conde Nast Traveler blog and Style Me Pretty Living, my blog has been featured on some great sites like CNN.com, Style Me Pretty, Houzz, Apartment Therapy, and HGTV.com. And, I’ve had the opportunity to team up with brands like Lowe’s Home Improvement, The Home Depot, Ballard Designs, Pottery Barn Kids, Oreck, HomeGoods, Joss & Main and One Kings Lane.

Now that you know me better, feel free to take a tour of our home here.
